While I’m glad to see more Missouri teams on the rankings, I’m not sure the stats you have for them are accurate, particularly their Tiger Bowl ppb. You have them with 19.17 ppb, but the actual stats for the tournament show them with 17.4 ppb.

That was Walnut Hills, not Northmont that had only one player at ADVANTAGE. They had their full team, as far as I know, Walnut Hills consisted of me. This probably decreased our ppb by 2-3 as I averaged around 5ppb on anything vaguely artsy, musical, or religious. I don’t know if that would change your rankings at all, but just to let you know for next time. Also, it’s an A set so you probably don’t value it too highly, but at Tippecanoe XV Walnut Hills A consisted of me and our B team.
Can vouch for the addition of the Wissahickon and Henderson teams from PA. They beat us by good margins the other day. Those teams are really pretty good at NAQT questions.
I would like to see them play on something mACF, though.

Kellenberg A’s stats for Delaware Fall are not correct. It should be 420.9 ppg and 21.17 ppb.
The HFT PPB for Norcross is wrong. The stats were entered wrong. It would be about 17.70.

Just to make it clear, DCC was two players short at ADVANTAGE (Bobby) and 1 player short (me) at both Tippecanoe and UM Autumn Classic.
Fred is only using tournaments where stats were kept. So tournaments like the “6th Annual Jr. Jaguar JV,” which not only didn’t keep stats but wasn’t even a varsity tournament, and UofL aren’t going to be up here.

It’s just that 1/2 our Varsity team is comprised of 2 sophomores, so I just wanted to help. To be honest, I didn’t think we were that good.
Yeah sorry reading my comment I sounded really mean there. Because that tournament didn’t keep stats he can’t use ppb or powers, and ppg will be inflated because you were competing against JV teams, so that isn’t too indicative of skill against better teams.

For what it’s worth, DCC B was at least missing Jimmy, their main lit player, at U of M, if you didn’t already note that.

George Mason defeated Bethesda Chevy-Chase twice at Dr. YAKUB, and it also defeated your Number 10 Richard Montgomery before succumbing in an Advantage Final to RM, finishing 2nd ahead of the BCC team it had twice defeated. The result? BCC, previously unranked and having played in only ONE other tournament, jumps to #56 in your poll, while George Mason is 68th. The apparent decisive factor? BCC’s PPB was about 1 point higher than GM’s. Again, I know this is for fun and it is not life and death, and I am sure BCC has a good team, but since it was BCC’s first ranking so far this year, should not GM at least be ranked ahead of it, given the respective performances of both teams at YAKUB? And look at Solon’s performance on the same set—but even Solon is behind BCC. You really do love PPB, which is largely understandable, but to the exclusion of all else? I mean GM defeated them TWICE on he same set plus defeated an outstanding RM squad. What’s a team gotta do? 🙂

Also, Fred: if Andy ever gets to correcting the HFT playoff stats at Harvard: We defeated LASA B in the playoffs, 250-225 (he has us losing 295-90), winning the 2nd flight and finishing with an 8-2 record and 7th place overall in that outstanding field. And this corrected score would mean that our actual PPG at HFT was 320, while our PPB would be 18.57. I hope this helps you see that spies aren’t all bad—sometimes they can even help with accurate info! 🙂 Have a great holiday season!
