Here we go with teams 181-190. Remember that B (and C) teams will be covered with their A team.
190. Collierville A (TN) – After a season with third place finishes at Bolton, White Station and Germantown, everyone from Collierville is graduating this year, leaving them with the task of rebuilding for next season.
Expected performance next season: significantly down
189. Utica Academy A (MI) – This team returns their three lead scorers Dominic Aluia, Hank Kennedy and Thomas Collins. There’s no reason to expect this team that made the HSNCT playoffs to not have another strong season next year.
Expected performance next season: up
188. Collins Hill A (GA) – After a season highlighted by finishing sixth at the Georgia Tech mirror of BHSAT and earning a second place finish at the Class 6A GATA State Championship, these team returns its two main scorers from this past season.
Expected performance next season: up
187. Village A (TX) – With a surprising tied for 34th finish at the NAQT HSNCT, this team returns all their scoring from this season.
Expected performance next season: up
186. Culver A (IN) – After a decent season statistically where they searched out the best competition they could find, Culver returns all of their scoring and should take a step up.
Expected performance next season: up
184. Gonzaga A (DC) – Though not the most active year by Gonzaga’s past standards, they did finish second at the HSAPQ Washington D.C. championship. Top scorer Alec is graduating, which will set them back significantly. But their second scorer Luke is entering just his sophomore season; if he can improve sufficiently, this team should be fine in the long term.
Expected performance next season: down
183. Rancho Bernardo A (CA) – With the graduation of Sathya Ramesh, it’d be hard for any team to improve next year, but even without him they went 5-5 at HSNCT and just missed the playoffs. They return most of the scoring from that squad, excluding Jeffrey Lam’s nearly 16 PPG. If rising junior Kion You can continue to improve, they’ll be set going forward.
Expected performance next season: down
182. Albemarle A (VA) – This team played two pyramidal tournaments this year, including the PACE NSC, where they tied for 73rd. They return most of their scoring, only losing Shassata Fahim. With their clear #1 Quinn Legallo-Malone coming back for his senior year and multiple appearances at pyramidal tournaments under their belt, I definitely expect bigger things from this squad next year.
Expected performance next season: up
181. Hoover A (AL) – Everyone returns on this team from their best regular season aPPB performance, including All Name Quiz Bowl First Team nominee Max Gunn. After taking two teams to HSNCT this year, with both going 5-5, there’s no reason to not expect their A team to continue to improve.
Expected performance next season: up
I want to know who else made the All-Name team.
